Born in England, UK; son of TV commercial animator Tony Cattaneo (1927-2003). British director known for his work in short films, TV, and music videos. THE FULL MONTY (1997), for which he received an Oscar® nomination for Best Director, was his first full-length feature film. His 1990 short, DEAR ROSIE, was also nominated for an Academy Award®. Cattaneo's recent films include LUCKY BREAK (2001, also producer), OPAL DREAM (2005, also writer), THE ROCKER (scheduled for 2008), and WE'RE THE MILLERS (scheduled for 2009).

Cattaneo was awarded the M.B.E. (Member of the British Empire) in 1998.
