Ezio Frigerio

Born in Erba, Italy. Art director and production designer who entered Italian film as a costume designer in 1961. Notable production designer credits include I SEQUESTRATI DI ALTONA / THE CONDEMNED OF ALTONA (1962), IERO, OGGI, DOMANI / YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW (1963), I CANNIBALI / THE YEAR OF THE CANNIBALS (1970), CYRANO DE BERGERAC (1990), LOUIS, ENFANT ROI / LOUIS, THE CHILD KING (1993), LE HUSSARD SUR LE TOIT / THE HORSEMAN ON THE ROOF (1995), and DER UNHOLD / THE OGRE (1996). He was art director for Bertolucci's NOVECENTO / 1900 (1976). In the 1980s, Frigerio designed several TV adaptations of operas, including "Carmen" and "Les Noces de Figaro" (both 1980), "Ernani" (1982), "Francesca da Rimini" (1985), "Il Babiere de Siviglia" and "Il Trovatore" (both 1988), and "Don Giovanni" (1989).
