Joel Hynek

Visual effects supervisor who entered American film as an optical photography supervisor for XANADU (1980). Other notable credits include ZELIG (1983), LADYHAWKE and WEIRD SCIENCE (both 1985), PREDATOR (1987), NEW YORK STORIES (1989, "Oedipus Wrecks"), PREDATOR 2 (1990), McBAIN (1991), MEDICINE MAN (1992), DIE HARD: WITH A VENGEANCE and JUDGE DREDD (both 1995), ERASER (1996), WHAT DREAMS MAY COME (1998), THE 13TH WARRIOR (1999), BLESS THE CHILD (2000), ROLLERBALL, xXx and FRIDA (all 2002), THE ITALIAN JOB and THE MISSING (both 2003), STEALTH (2005), and JUMPER and THE MUMMY: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR (both scheduled for 2008).
