Production executive whose association with Barry Levinson goes back to the late 1970s (HIGH ANXIETY, 1977). Johnson has produced (alone or in collaboration) several films with or for Levinson since then: DINER (1982), THE NATURAL (1984), YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES (1985), GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM and TIN MEN (both 1987), AVALON (1990), KAFKA (1991), TOYS (1992), JIMMY HOLLYWOOD (1994), DONNIE BRASCO (1997), HOME FRIES (1998) and AN EVERLASTING PIECE (2000) -- as well as the Best Picture-nominated RAIN MAN (1988) and BUGSY (1991).

Other notable credits (as producer or executive producer) include SNIPER and A PERFECT WORLD (both 1993), A LITTLE PRINCESS and THE TAMING POWER OF THE SMALL (both 1995), THE ASTRONAUT'S WIFE and GALAXY QUEST (both 1999), MY DOG SKIP and WHAT LIES BENEATH (both 2000), DRAGONFLY, THE ROOKIE, THE BANGER SISTERS and MOONLIGHT MILE (all 2002), THE ALAMO and THE NOTEBOOK (both 2004), THE WENDELL BAKER STORY and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE (both 2005), HOW TO EAT FRIED WORMS (2006), SHOOTER and THE HUNTING PARTY (both 2007), BALLAST, LAKE CITY and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN (all scheduled for 2008), STEINBECK'S POINT OF VIEW (scheduled for 2009), and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER (scheduled for 2010).

Johnson served on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Board of Governors from 2001 to 2004 and is currently in his term which began in 2006.
