American documentary filmmaker whose directing credits include SELF-HEALTH (1974), "Mitsuye and Nellie" (1981, TV), "Visions of Paradise" (1982, TV mini-series), IN THE SHADOW OF THE STARS (1991), DIALOGUES WITH MADWOMEN (1994), SHAKESPEARE'S CHILDREN (1996), RACHEL'S DAUGHTERS: SEARCHING FOR THE CAUSES OF BREAST CANCER (1997), BLIND SPOT: MURDER BY WOMEN (2000) and "Children and Asthma" (2002, TV).

Light lectured for 10 years in the Women's Studies Program at San Francisco State University and has lectured in film at City College of San Francisco.
