Born Patricia Colleen Nelligan in London, Ontario, Canada; educated at York University (Canada) and the Central School of Speech and Drama (London). Four-time Tony® nominee (Plenty, A Moon for the Misbegotten, Serious Money and Spoils of War) who has appeared intermittently in films since the mid-1970s. Memorable in the title role of ELENI (1985), based on the life of American writer Nicholas Gage and his attempts to unravel the truth about his mother's execution by Greek communists after WW II. Other notable screen credits include THE ROMANTIC ENGLISHWOMAN (1975), DRACULA (1979), MR.
