Amazon Diary (1989)

Entering American television in the late 1970s with "So Long Lady" (1978, writer & director), Nixon became an outspoken proponent of animal rights. He wrote and directed "Fossey's War" (1980, TV), "Sea Turtles: Ancient Nomads" (1988, TV), and "America the Beautiful" (1990, TV: also producer). In 1988, Nixon was a co-producer of GORILLAS IN THE MIST. His other producing/directing credits include "If I Can Do This... I Can Do Anything" (1987, TV), AMAZON DIARY (1989), "The Last Rivermen" (1992, TV), ENDANGERED SPECIES (2004), and THE LORD GOD BIRD (scheduled for 2008).  Nominated for Achievement in Live Action Short Films 1989: AMAZON DIARY - Producer 1 nomination
