The Last Emperor (1987) Born in Kenya. Collaborative scenarist who has worked with Jacques Demy, Michelangelo Antonioni and brother-in-law Bernardo Bertolucci, among others. Co-wrote sister Clare Peploe's HIGH SEASON (1987). Other notable credits include THE PIED PIPER (1972), PROFESSIONE: REPORTER / THE PASSENGER and JEUNE FILLE LIBRE LE SOIR / THE BABYSITTER (both 1975), SAMSON AND DELILAH (1985, screenplay & director), THE LAST EMPEROR (1987), THE SHELTERING SKY (1990), AFRAID OF THE DARK (1991, also director), LITTLE BUDDHA (1993) and VICTORY (1995, also director).
