Price had two of his popular, streetwise novels adapted for film (BLOODBROTHERS, 1978, THE WANDERERS, 1979) before embarking on a successful career as an original screenwriter, notably with THE COLOR OF MONEY (1986) and SEA OF LOVE (1989). Other notable writing credits (alone or in collaboration) include STREETS OF GOLD (1986), BAD (1987), ARENA BRAINS (1988), NEW YORK STORIES (1989, "Life Lessons" segment), NIGHT AND THE CITY (1992), MAD DOG AND GLORY (1993, also exec. producer), KISS OF DEATH and CLOCKERS (both 1995, both also co-producer), RANSOM (1996), SHAFT (2000), FREEDOMLAND (2006, screenplay from his own novel), episodes of the TV series "The Wire" (2004-06), and 36 (planned for 2008).
