Nina Rosenblum
Biography from Daedalus Productions

Producer and director of television and film documentaries. President of Daedalus Productions, Inc., Rosenblum has produced and directed in co-production with PBS, HBO, TBS, ABC, NBC, Channel Four/UK, WDR/Germany, La Sept, France and SBS/Australia. She is a member of the Directors' Guild of America (Director), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the International Documentary Association and Women in Film.

In 1992, Rosenblum and co-producer William Miles were nominated for an Oscar® for documentary, (PBS, WDR/Germany, La Sept/France and SBS-Australia), LIBERATORS: FIGHTING ON TWO FRONTS IN WORLD WAR II, narrated by Denzel Washington and Louis Gossett Jr. which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. This effort was followed by her acclaimed TBS documentary, THE UNTOLD WEST: THE BLACK WEST, narrated by Danny Glover, which won an Emmy® in 1994 and widened the audience for historical non-fiction television.

These productions followed Rosenblum's Sundance Special Jury Prize-winning, AMERICA & LEWIS HINE (PBS-1984), co-produced and written by Daedalus Productions partner Daniel Allentuck and narrated by Jason Robards and THROUGH THE WIRE (PBS/POV-1991), co-produced in association with Amnesty International and narrated by Susan Sarandon. In 1994 her feature documentary LOCK-UP: THE PRISONERS OF RIKERS ISLAND (1994), produced for HBO's AMERICA UNDERCOVER series, further solidified Daedalus Productions as major producers on the non-fiction scene.

Rosenblum produced and directed WALTER ROSENBLUM: IN SEARCH OF PITT STREET (1999), chronicling the photographic career of her father, renowned documentary photographer Walter Rosenblum. Subsequent credits include "The Skin I'm In" (2000, TV), CODE YELLOW: HOSPITAL AT GROUND ZERO (2002), and ZAHIRA: 'LA QUE FLORENCE' / ZAHIRA'S PEACE (2004).
