Pietro Scalia

Born in Sicily, Italy; graduate of the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. Film editor who entered American film as an assistant/associate editor for Oliver Stone's WALL STREET (1987), TALK RADIO (1988), BORN ON THE FOURTH OF JULY (1989) and THE DOORS (1991). During those years, he also assisted on SHY PEOPLE (1988). His other notable (non-nominated) film editing credits include MEGAVILLE (1990), JACKPOT (1992), LITTLE BUDDHA (1993), THE QUICK AND THE DEAD (1995), STEALING BEAUTY (1996), G.I. JANE (1997), THE BIG HIT and PLAYING BY HEART (both 1998), HANNIBAL (2001), LEVITY and MASKED AND ANONYMOUS (both 2003), ASHES AND SNOW, THE GREAT RAID and MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA (all 2005), HANNIBAL RISING, THE 11TH HOUR and AMERICAN GANGSTER (all 2007), and BODY OF LIES (scheduled for 2008).
