Journalist and a professor of journalism at the Columbia School of Journalism. He is also a contributor to The Lies of Our Times, a monthly journal dedicated to exposing the truth behind twisted and censored reports in the mainstream media. He collaborated with director Oliver Stone on the screenplay of the controversial movie JFK (1991), which was trashed by the very same mainstream media exposed in the Lies of Our Times.
In 2005, Sklar was a writer for LA FIESTA DEL CHIVO / THE FEAST OF THE GOAT, based on the novel by Mario Vargas-Llosa, which tells the story of a woman who returns to the Dominican Republic after 30 years to face her ghosts from the time of the rule of Rafael Trujillo ("El Chivo"). He is currently working on a screenplay about Paul Robeson. He has served as a creative adviser for screenwriting labs sponsored by Sundance (Utah), Sundance International (Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Jordan), Equinoxe (France), and the Australian Film Commission.
