Born in Dijon, France. Photographer for National Geographic, Geo, Life, Paris Match, Sunday Times, Smithsonian, etc. Specialist on Himalaya. He received three World Press Awards: CHASSEURS DE MIEL / HONEY HUNTERS (1988), CHASSEURS DES TÉNÈBRES / BIRDNESTERS OF THAILAND (1991) and LES ENFANTS DE LA POUISSÈRE (1991). He was the Himalyan unit directior for SEVEN YEARS IN TIBET (1997), and he directed HIMALAYA (a.k.a. CARAVAN) (1999) and THE BIGGEST STEP (2002).
