Born in Greenburg, PA. Bruce Weber studied at Princeton and at the New School for Social Research in New York. He has been a dynamic force in fashion and portraiture photography for more than two decades. He has photographed for virtually every major magazine, has 16 books to his credit, and, his work has been exhibited in over 60 gallery shows and museums.
Weber is equally acclaimed for his filmmaking and has produced seven short and feature length movies, two of which won Best Documentary awards from the International Documentary Association.Other notable directing credits include BROKEN NOSES (1987), BACKYARD MOVIE (1991), GENTLE GIANTS (1994, also writer), CHOP SUEY (2000, also writer), and A LETTER TO TRUE (2004, also writer). He contributed special photography to MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO (1991) and still photography to SCRATCH THE SURFACE (1997).
