London-based former jingles composer who pioneered the use of computer-driven film scores. Zimmer collaborated with Stanley Myers on a string of films between 1982 and 1988, including Jerzy Skolimowski's MOONLIGHTING (1982) and Nicolas Roeg's INSIGNIFICANCE (1985). Subsequent credits have ranged from Ridley Scott's BLACK RAIN (1989) to Bruce Beresford's DRIVING MISS DAISY (1989). Zimmer also co-produced the soundtrack album for Bertolucci's THE LAST EMPEROR (1987). He has since become one of Hollywood's top film composers (with over 150 film and TV projects to his credit) and is in constant demand.

Zimmer's most recent film projects include KING ARTHUR, THUNDERBIRDS, SHARK TALE, LAURA STERN and SPANGLISH (all 2004), MADAGASCAR, BATMAN BEGINS and THE WEATHER MAN (all 2005), THE DA VINCI CODE, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST and THE HOLIDAY (all 2006), PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: AT WORLD'S END and THE SIMPSONS MOVIE (both 2007), and FROST/NIXON, CASI DIVAS, KUNG FU PARADE, THE DARK KNIGHT and MADAGASCAR: THE CRATE ESCAPE (all scheduled for release in 2008).
