Born in Germany. Costume designer who entered French film with THE MARQUISE OF O... (1976). She designed the costumes for the television productions of the operas "Pelléas et Mélisande" (1992), "Wozzeck" (1994), "Don Carlos" (1996), "Tour d'écrou" and "Madame de..." (both 2001), "Simon Boccanegra" (2002), "Phèdre" (2003) and "Tristan und Isolde" (2007). She was a wardrobe supervisor (as Bernadette Villard) for VALMONT (1989), and she designed the costumes for GERMINAL (1993, again as Bernadette Villard).
