Born in Hildesheim, Germany. Independent German filmmaker who studied at the "Konrad Wolf" Academy for Film & Television (HFF/B) in Potsdam-Babelsberg from 1992-99. Since 1996, he has realised a series of shorts, including SCHATTEN DER VERGANGENHEIT / SHADES OF THE PAST (1996, writer & director). He was 2nd a.d. on "Dragonland" (1999, TV) and directed "Weihnachten" (2002, TV). AMPAS awarded Bochert with the Honorary Foreign Film Student Award "Baby Oscar®" for KLEINGELD in 1999. Bochert's subsequent directing credits include EIN GOLDFISCH UNTER HAIEN (2004) and episodes of "Ein Engel für alle" (TV) and "Anja & Anton" (2004-08).
