Born in Köslin, Pomerania, Germany. Art director, set decorator and production designer who entered Mexican film as a producer of short documentaries in the late 70s and early 80s. She was production designer for SÓLO CON TO PAREJA (1991); other production design credits include LA VIDA CONYUGAL (1993), LA HIJA DEL PUMA (1994), ENTRE PANCHO VILLA Y UNA MUJER DESNUDA (1995), AMORES PERROS (2000), THE HIRE: POWDER KEG (2001), REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES, "Fidel" (TV mini-series) and LA HIJA DEL CANIBAL (all 2002) and 21 GRAMS (2003). Her art direction credits include CRONOS (1993), ROUGH MAGIC (1995), LA ORTRA CONQUISTA and SEXO, PUDOR Y LÁGRIMAS (both 1999), AMORES PERROS / LOVE'S A BITCH (2000), POWDER KEG (2001), REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES and "Fidel" (TV) (both 2002), LA HIJA DEL CANIBAL / LUCIA, LUCIA and 21 GRAMS (both 2003), SHE HATE ME (2004), BABEL (2006), and VANTAGE POINT and THE READER (both 2008). Broch has been nominated for both of the films for which she has been set decorator for Baz Luhrmann, WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S ROMEO + JULIET (1996) and MOULIN ROUGE! (2001).
