Russell Carpenter

Born in Van Nuys, CA. Cinematographer who entered American film with SOLE SURVIVOR (1982). Other notable credits include LIONHEART (1990), THE LAWNMOWER MAN and PET SEMATARY II (both 1992), HARD TARGET and "Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman" (TV) (both 1993), TRUE LIES (1994), THE INDIAN IN THE CUPBOARD (1995), Michael Jackson's GHOSTS and MONEY TALKS (both 1997), THE NEGOTIATOR (1998), CHARLIE'S ANGELS (2000), SHALLOW HAL (2001), CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE (2003), NOEL (2004), MONSTER-IN-LAW (2005), LUCIFER and AWAKE (both 2007), and 21 and HEREAFTER (both scheduled for release in 2008).

Carpenter thought that James Cameron was going to fire him from TRUE LIES, due to the fact the negative was too dark and you couldn't see Arnold Schwartznegger's face. Little did he know that Cameron does this little trial by fire to all of his DPs.
