Computer graphics animator and senior visual effects supervisor at Sony Pictures Imageworks who entered American film with IN THE LINE OF FIRE (1993). Responsible for the creation of all of a film's digital imagery and its components, including animation, character modeling, lighting, frame composition, color, texture and shading. This involves working directly with the director to deliver the director's vision to the screen and combines the artistry and technological knowledge of his crew at Sony Pictures Imageworks to create the "world" of the film, including its style and design. Chen also oversees the use of Imageworks' patented ImagemotionTM performance capture system to bring the film to life.
