Born in Hong Kong; raised in Sacramento, California; educated at the University of California, Davis (engineering). Worked at Hewlitt-Packard and did commercial artwork on the side. In 1981, hired by Pacific Data Images founder Carl Rosendahl as first employee. Visual effects supervisor at PDI/DreamWorks whose credits include BATMAN FOREVER (1995), BROKEN ARROW, EXECUTIVE DECISION, THE ARRIVAL and ERASER (all 1996), BATMAN & ROBIN and A SIMPLE WISH (both 1997), FORCES OF NATURE and THE OUT-OF-TOWNERS (both 1999), SUPERNOVA, HOW TO KILL YOUR NEIGHBOR'S DOG and THE LEGEND OF BAGGER VANCE (all 2000), THE MEXICAN and EVOLUTION (both 2001), and MINORITY REPORT and PEOPLE I KNOW (both 2002).
