Born in Falls Church, VA. Producer who entered American film as a DGA trainee on THE COLOR PURPLE (1985). He worked his way up as 2nd and 1st ass't director in the late 1980s and early 1990s on films like *batteries not included (1987), COCOON: THE RETURN (1988) and ARACHNOPHOBIA (1990). He was an associate producer of HOOK (1991), and he co-produced ALIVE (1993). Other credits as producer include THE FLINTSTONES (1994), TO WONG FOO, THANKS FOR EVERYTHING! JULIE NEWMAR (1995), MOUSE HUNT (1997), THE FLINTSTONES IN VIVA ROCK VEGAS (2000), DOWN WITH LOVE and BIG FISH (both 2003), THE FORGOTTEN (2004), THE NINES (2007), MILK (2008, filming), and BE WITH YOU (announced for 2009).
In television, Cohen's producing credits include "Mistrial" (1996), "Hate" (2005, exec. prod.), and executive producer of episodes of the series "Traveler", "Side Order of Life" and "Pushing Daisies" (all 2007).
