Susan Warms Dryfoos is a member of the family that has owned and published the New York Times for over a century. Her great-grandfather, Adolph Ochs, bought the Times in 1896 and published it until 1935; her grandfather, Arthur Sulzberger, was publisher from 1935-61; and her father, Orvil Dryfoos, was publisher from 1961-63.
She directed the documentary JAMES RESTON: THE MAN MILLIONS READ (1992), and she wrote, produced and directed THE LINE KING: THE AL HIRSCHFELD STORY (1996). Married to artist Douglas Howcroft Mazonowicz from 1975 until 1982, since 1989 she has been married to Daniel Mayer Selznick, the son of producer David O. Selznick.
