Born in New York City; son of Max Frankel, longtime executive editor of The New York times. Writer, producer and director in American film and television since the mid-1980s. Directing credits include "Doctor, Doctor" (1989, TV series - also writer), MIAMI RHAPSODY (1995, written by), DEAR DIARY (1996, also writer), "From the Earth to the Moon" (1998, TV mini-series, episodes 2, 4 & 8), "Sex and the City" (also 1998, also TV), "Grapevine" (2000, TV series, also writer), "Band of Brothers" (2001, TV mini-series, parts 7 & 9), "The Pennsylvania Miners' Story" (2002, TV), 6 episodes of "Sex and the City" (2001//2003, TV series), 2 episodes of "Entourage" (2004, TV series), THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA (2006), and MARLEY & ME (scheduled for release in 2008). Frank was writer and supervising producer of "The Ellen Burstyn Show" (1986, TV series).
