In the mid-1990s, Frederick helped found the North Carolina Media Arts Alliance, a consortium of filmmakers dedicated to nurturing the movie industry in the region. With her husband, Jack Campbell, she produced the "North Carolina Visions" series of indigenous films that runs on UNC-TV. Frederick and Campbell left Durham, NC, for the Big Apple in 1997, where she works as an account representative for Eastman-Kodak, handling sales to independent filmmakers in New York City.

She and Peter Reigert (who also adapted O. Henry's short story and directed the 17-minute film) shot BY COURIER on a weekend in upstate New York. Her subsequent producing credits include LIFELIKE (2005, exec. prod.) and TRAIN TOWN (2007).
