Born in Gram, Jutland, Denmark. Graduate of the National Film School of Denmark, 1995. Best Film & Script Award for his film OMVEJE /CROSSROADS at the Film School Festival in Munich, 1995. Genz directed a number of short films and documentaries including the Academy Award®-nominated and Glass Bear winner at Berlin, the short fiction film, TEIS & NICO / BROR, MIN BROR (1999), which was also a festival hit worldwide. EN SOM HODDER / SOMEONE LIKE HODDER (2003) was his feature film debut. Subsequent directing credits include episodes of several TV series, KINAMAND / CHINAMAN (2005), and FRYGTELIG LYKKELIG / AWFULLY LUCKY (2008)
