Production designer who started out in American film as sculpture and additional designer for Tim Burton's animated short VINCENT (1982). He worked as a stop-motion animator and animated effects supervisor during the 1980s (THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION and PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE), designed sets for GHOSTBUSTERS II (1989), JOE VERSUS THE VOLCANO and EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (both 1990) and THE FISHER KING (1991), and acted as art director for "To the Moon, Alice" (1990, TV), BATMAN RETURNS (1992), LAST ACTION HERO (1993) and TALL TALE (1995). He was a visual consutant for TIM BURTON'S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (1993).
