Born in Providence, RI. One of the few successful female Production Designers in Hollywood who entered American film as an art director in the late 1970s: ALAMBRISTA! (1977) and THE SCENIC ROUTE and ROCKERS (both 1978). Her notable production design credits include THE LOVELESS (1982), DEEP IN THE HEART/HANDGUN (1983), THE SURE THING and TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A. (both 1985), SURRENDER (1987), WORTH WINNING (1989), I LOVE YOU TO DEATH (1990), LATE FOR DINNER (1991), JACK THE BEAR and IN THE LINE OF FIRE (both 1993), LEGENDS OF THE FALL (1994), STRANGE DAYS and THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT (both 1995), THE CRUCIBLE and GHOSTS OF MISSISSIPPI (both 1996), CITY OF ANGELS and THE SIEGE (both 1998), THE STORY OF US (1999), HEARTBREAKERS (2001), HART'S WAR (2002), THE LAST SAMURAI (2003), THE PINK PANTHER (2006), and VALKYRIE and MADE IN FRANCE (both scheduled for release in 2008).  Nominated for Achievement in Art Direction 1994: LEGENDS OF THE FALL - Art Direction  Nominated for Achievement in Art Direction 2003: THE LAST SAMURAI - Art Direction 2 nominations
