Educated at Calvin College (Grand Rapids, MI: BA, 1968). Production designer who entered American film in 1979 as a project consultant for HARDCORE. Other early credits include TENDER MERCIES (1983, art director), RACING WITH THE MOON (1984, set decorator), and BLOW OUT (1981) and CAT PEOPLE (1982) (both set designer).
