B.A. Baruch College. American documentary filmmaker and feature film editor whose first recorded credit was JUST CRAZY ABOUT HORSES (1978). Since 1990, he's collaborated with Spike Lee on several projects: editing MO' BETTER BLUES (1990), JUNGLE FEVER (1991), CLOCKERS (1995), GIRL 6 (1996), 4 LITTLE GIRLS (1997), BAMBOOZLED (2000), JIM BROWN ALL AMERICAN and 25TH HOUR (both 2002), and "When the Levees Broke" (TV mini-series) and INSIDE MAN (uncredited add'l editor) (both 2006). Pollard was a writer-producer & director on the 1990 TV mini-series "Eyes on the Prize II" and produced "American Roots Music" (2001, TV mini-series) an episode of "The Blues" (2003). His other editing credits include NIGHT OF THE ZOMBIES and BODY AND SOUL (both 1981), PRIVATE RESORT (1985), SURVIVING THE GAME and NO DREAMS DEFERRED (both 1994), "Half Past Autumn: The Life and Works of Gordon Parks" (2000, TV), CHISHOLM '72: UNBOUGHT & UNBOSSED and ISN'T THIS A TIME! A TRIBUTE COONCERT FOR HAROLD LEVENTHAL (both 2004), TWELVE DISCIPLES OF NELSON MANDELA (2005), and PETE SEEGER: THE POWER OF SONG (2007).
Pollard taught in the Cinema Department of Columbia University and is currently an Associate Professor of Film and Television at N.Y.U.
