Set decorator who began in British film production in the mid-1970s as a production and property buyer and set dresser. These credits include THE GREAT McGONAGALL, DEADLY STRANGERS and MAHLER (all 1974), THE ROMANTIC ENGLISHMAN (1975), AGATHA, ALIEN and PORRIDGE (all 1979), REDS (1981), THE RETURN OF THE SOLDIER and GANDHI (both 1982), LOCAL HERO and THE DRESSER (both 1983), THE PRINCESS BRIDE and THE LONELY PASSION OF JUDITH HEARNE (both 1987), SCANDAL (1989), FOOLS OF FORTUNE (1990), AFRAID OF THE DARK (1991), HOWARDS END (1992), REMAINS OF THE DAY (1993), ANGELS AND INSECTS (1995), and THE PORTRAIT OF A LADY (1996). In the mid-1990s, Quartier moved into set decoration, with credits that include TOM & VIV (1994), FEAST OF JULY (1995), INCOGNITO (1997), SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE (1998), QUILLS (2000) and FROM HELL (2001).
