Frances Reid

Frances Reid has been producing, directing, and shooting documentary films for over 30 years. Her production SKIN DEEP won a Bronze Plaque at the Columbus Film Festival. A film exploring race relations on college campuses, it was broadcast nationally on PBS and is now in use by nearly 2,000 colleges and universities nationwide.

Her producing and directing credits include such films as the groundbreaking documentary IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CHILDREN (1977), a Blue Ribbon Winner at the American Film Festival. Her film THE FACES OF AIDS was awarded First Place by the Black Filmmakers' Hall of Fame. Other credits include "All God's Children" (2001, video) and WAGING A LIVING (2005, co-producer/co-director).

As a cinematographer, she shot THE TIMES OF HARVEY MILK (1984), RENO'S KIDS: 87 DAYS + 11 (1988), COMPLAINTS OF A DUTIFUL DAUGHTER (1994) and "A Personal Journey with Martin Scorsese Through American Movies" (1995, TV).
