Born in Córdoba, Argentina. Eugenio Zanetti is an award-winning designer, theater and opera director, as well as an accomplished painter and the writer of two plays. With a multifaceted career that spans over 30 years and three continents, Zanetti is internationally recognized as an artist of extraordinary and versatile qualities. Among others, his films include, WHAT DREAMS MAY COME (1998) (Academy Award® nomination), FLATLINERS (1990), LAST ACTION HERO (1993), SOAPDISH (1991), TALL TALE (1995), the Argentine films CAMILA (1984) and LA TREGUA / THE TRUCE (1974) (both Academy Award nominees), THE POWER OF DARKNESS (Moscow Film Festival Award for Design), SOME GIRLS (1988) (Toronto Film Festival Design Award), MEDEA, LOS PASAJEROS DEL JARDIN / THE PASSENGERS OF THE GARDEN (1982), TALL TALE and RESTORATION, for which he won an Academy Award, (both 1995), WARRIORS OF VIRTUE (1997), THE HAUNTING (1999), and ZAPATA - EL SUEÑO DEL HÉROE (2004).

Zanetti's more than 40 theater and opera productions in Europe and South America include: A Masqued Ball and Nabucco by Verdi, Madama Butterfly and Tosca by Puccini, et al. In a very successful career as Director of Musicals, he has received in Argentina the Thalia Award (equal to the Tony) for his work in They're Playing Our Song, Chicago and Dracula as a Director, and the same award as Author for The White Queen and the Star of the Sea Award for The Cherry Orchard, Chapter Two, Company and Peer Gynt.
