Nephew of French actor/producer Jacques Perrin. Originally a musician, Barratier studied music and the Paris Conservatory and entered French film and television as a producer. His producing credits include MICROCOSMOS: LE PEUPLE DE L'HERBE (1996), HIMALAYA - L'ENFANCE D'UN CHEF (1999), LE PEUPLE MIGRATEUR / WINGED MIGRATION (2001), LES AILES DE LA NATURE (2002, TV) and LA VIE COMME ELLE VA / AS LIFE GOES BY (2003, TV). Barratier's writing and directing credits include LES TOMBALES (2002), LES CHORISTES / THE CHORUS (2004), and FAUBOURG 36 / PARIS 36 (scheduled for release in 2008).  Nominated for Achievement in Music (Best Song) 2004: LE CHORISTES - "Look to Your Path (Vois sur ton chemin)" - Lyric 1 nomination
