Born in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Executive producer of the Oscar®-winning documentary THE ACCOUNTANT (2001) with her husband, Ray McKinnon. Blount entered American film as a child actress in the late 1960s (SAM'S SONG, 1969) and continued when she reached her 20s: 9/30/55 (1977), DEAD & BURIED (1981), AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN (1982), WHAT WAITS BELOW (1984), RADIOACTIVE DREAMS, CEASE FIRE and CUT AND RUN (all 1985), PRINCE OF DARKNESS and NIGHTFLYERS (both 1987), SOUTH OF RENO (1988), OUT COLD, GREAT BALLS OF FIRE and BLIND FURY (all 1989), FEMME FATALE (1991), NEEDFUL THINGS (1993, uncredited), SALKED and JUDICIAL CONSENT (both 1994), BOX OF MOON LIGHT (1996), TRAFFIC and IF... DOG... RABBIT... (both 1999), A.K.A. BIRDEYE (2002), and RANDY AND THE MOB (2007), as well as many made-for-television movies and guest appearances on TV series. Blount produced and acted in McKinnon's 2004 feature CHRYSTAL, which starred their friend Billy Bob Thornton.
