Born in Lódz, Poland; attended Lódz University followed by the Cinematography Department at the Film School in Lódz. Amongst the awards he has received are: The Cinematography award at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia - twice, once in 1993 for KROLL (1991) and again in 1997 for HOME CHRONICLES. The latter was also awarded the Bronze Frog at CamerImage '97 in Torun. And in 1999 he was chosen by Variety for inclusion in their list of "Ten to Watch" Cinematographers.
