Born in England, UK; brother of actors James Fox (b. 1939) and Edward Fox (b. 1937). Producer who entered British film with ANOTHER COUNTRY (1984, exec. producer). Other notable (non-nominated) producing credits include GOTHIC (1986, uncredited), A MONTH BY THE LAKE (1995), IRIS (2001), THE HOURS (2002), CLOSER (2004, exec. prd.), NOTES ON A SCANDAL (2006), ATONEMENT (2007, exec. prod.), and SALOMAYBE? and MY ZINC BED (exec. prod.) (both scheduled for release in 2008).

A producer on Broadway since 1986, Fox has received Tony® nominations for Best Play or Best Musical for The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, Lettice and Lovage, Skylight, Closer, Gypsy, Vincent in Brixton, The Boy from Oz, The Pillowman and Frost/Nixon.

Fox's second wife (1984-1993) was actress Natasha Richardson.
