Born in Los Angeles; son of legendary producer Samuel Goldwyn. Entered British film as an associate producer of GOOD TIME GIRL (1949) for the Rank Organisation, but he was soon producing in the US. Credits include MAN WITH THE GUN (1955), THE SHARKFIGHTERS (1956), THE PROUD REBEL (1958), THE ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN (1960), THE YOUNG LOVERS (1970), COME BACK, CHARLESTON BLUE (1972), THE GOLDEN SEAL (1983), ONCE BITTEN (1985, exec. producer), A PRAYER FOR THE DYING (1987), MYSTIC PIZZA (1988, exec. producer), MINNAMURRA (1989), STELLA (1990), THE PREACHER'S WIFE (1996), TORTILLA SOUP (2001, exec. prod.), MASTER AND COMMANDER: THE FAR SIDE OF THE WORLD (2003) and THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY (announced for 2009). On television, Goldwyn was executive producer of the TV series "Flipper" (1995), and he produced the 59th and 60th Annual Academy Awards® programs (1987, 1988).
