Born in Bourg-en-Bresse, France. Cinematographer on the Swiss feature DER KONGREß DER PINGUINE (1993) and the 2000 TV release "Killer Whales: Up Close and Personal". His writing/directing credits include "Une plage et trop de manchots" / "One Beach and Too Many Penguins" (2001, TV) and DES MANCHOTS ET DES HOMMES / OF PENGUINS AND MEN (2004). Jacquet fulfilled a dream of writing and directing his own film on the Antarctic Emperor penguin: LA MARCHE DE L'EMPEREUR (MARCH OF THE PENGUINS, 2005), for which he shared an Academy Award®. By the time of the Academy Award ceremonies in 2006, MARCH OF THE PENGUINS had out-grossed each of the 5 Best Picture nominees with box office receipts of $77 million.

Jacquet's most recent project is LE RENARD ET L'ENFANT / THE FOX & THE CHILD (2007).
