Born and raised in Munich, Germany. After a university degree in Literature and History, he began his career as a researcher for the director Wolfgang Petersen. Additionally, he worked as a first assistant director and assistant editor in German television: "Ein starkes Team - Bankraub" (2000), "Vergiss Amerika" (also 2000) and "Der Schuß" (2001). GREGOR'S GREATEST INVENTION ("Gregors größte Erfindung") was his directorial debut and was among the five nominees for the 2001 Oscar® in the category Best Short Film - Live Action. Subsequent assistant director credits include EMIL UND DIE DETEKTIVE (2001), "Stärker als der Tod" (2004, TV), "Die Entscheidung" (2004, TV), and "Ein Halbes Leben" (2008, TV).  Nominated for Achievement in Live Action Short Films 2001: GREGOR'S GREATEST INVENTION - Producer 1 nomination
