theOscarSite Bio: Kikuchi started her modeling and acting career at the age of fifteen with her real name. She made her film debut in IKITAI / WILL TO LIVE in 1999, which was directed by Kaneto Shindo. She has since added more than a dozen movies and TV-commercial films to her credit. She gave particularly strong performances in SORA NO ANA / HOLE OF THE SKY (2001), which was directed by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri and in TORI (2004), directed by Tadanobu Asano.

Kikuchi also appeared in CHA NO AJI / TASTE OF TEA (2004), directed by Katsuhito Ishii, which was selected by the 57th Cannes film festival in 2004. She changed her name Yuriko to Rinko for her screen name in May of 2004. BABEL (2006) was her first appearance in an American movie. Subsequent US films include GENIUS PARTY (2007, voice), and THE BROTHERS BLOOM (2008, scheduled for release in 2008).
