theOscarSite Bio: As one of NYC's top independent producers, Jon Kilik has collaborated with a wide range of auteur filmmakers. He has been a producer on twelve of Spike Lee's films, in collaboration that dates back to DO THE RIGHT THING (1989). Among their subsequent films together have been MALCOLM X (1992), CLOCKERS (1995), HE GOT GAME (1998), 25TH HOUR (2002), INSIDE MAN (2006), and MIRACLE AT ST. ANNA (2008).

Kilik produced two films directed by Tim Robbins, the Academy Award®-winning DEAD MAN WALKING (1995); and the ambitious journey into the NYC theater world of the 1930's, CRADLE WILL ROCK (1999). He also produced four films directed by Julian Schnabel, BASQUIAT (starring Jeffrey Wright as artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, 1996); BEFORE NIGHT FALLS (2000), for which Javier Bardem earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor; ; LOU REED'S BERLIN (2007); and LE SCAPHANDRE ET LE PAPILLON / THE DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY (2007), which was nominated for 4 Oscars® in 2008.

Kilik's other films as producer include Robert De Niro's A BRONX TALE (1993); Gary Ross' award-winning PLEASANTVILLE (1998); Ed Harris' Academy Award-winner POLLOCK (2000); Chris Eyre's SKINS (2002); Oliver Stone's ALEXANDER (2004), PINKVILLE (2008) and W.
