Born in St. Louis, MO. Ossana was Larry McMurtry's screenwriting and producing partner for the TV mini-series "Streets of Laredo" (1995), "Dead Man's Walk" (1996), "Johnson County War" (2002), and "Comanche Moon" (2008). She performed a similar function for the 2005 break-out hit, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. Ossana began a writing partnership with McMurtry in 1992 that has grown to include books, films and television projects. She first discovered Brokeback Mountain several years ago, while staying at McMurtry's Texas home. The film is based on a 1997 story by Annie Proulx and was originally published in The New Yorker.

Ossama's next collaboration with McMurtry is on the screenplay for BOONE'S LICK (in pre-production for release in 2010).
