Rob Pearlstein recently wrote, directed and produced his first short film, the Academy Award®-nominated OUR TIME IS UP (2004). He's currently writing a comedy pilot for 20th Century Fox Television and Phase Two Productions, as well as a drama pilot for ABC and Sony Pictures Television. He is also currently an executive story editor (writer) on the NBC drama "Medium." Previously, he wrote for "The Inside," a Fox drama produced by Imagine and 20th Century Fox. He also wrote a dramedy pilot for Fox about American soldiers in Afghanistan, produced by Berlanti/Liddell and Warner Bros. He is scheduled to direct his romantic comedy feature BELLISSIMO, originally sold to Universal Pictures, and Avenue A, his comedy about young artists in the East Village. He also wrote a sports drama, ASHLAND, for Focus Features, and rewrote an action-thriller, CAVE for Working Title Films.

Before screenwriting, Pearlstein wrote TV commercials, print and radio ads for ad agencies like TBWA Chiat/Day, Fallon, BBDO, Deutsch, McCann-Erickson, Saatchi & Saatchi and MTV. He studied acting with Lesly Kahn in L.A. and Black Nexxus in New York and has a degree in English from the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in L.A. and New York. In 2006, he was invited to join A.M.P.A.S.
