Producer whose film credits include SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE (1971), THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL (1978), THE SHINING (1980) and FORT APACHE THE BRONX (1981). In 2002, Richards scored a hit with the film adaptation of Bob Fosse's CHICAGO. A producer of the original 1975 Broadway version of Chicago, Richards' other Broadway producing credits include On the Twentieth Century (1978 and 2005 revival), Sweeney Todd (1979 and 1989 & 2005 revivals), Crimes of the Heart (1981), La Cage aux Folles (1983), Grand Hotel (1989), The Will Rogers Follies (1991), The Life (1997), and Chita Rivera: The Dancer's Life (2005).  Best Picture of the Year 2002: CHICAGO - Producer at Loop Films/Producers Circle 1 nomination, 1 Award
