Born in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Animator and modeler turned director whose work at Blue Sky Studios, Inc. since 1993 includes ICE AGE (co-director) and GONE NUTTY (both 2002) and ROBOTS (2005). Saldanha's earlier animating credits include A SIMPLE WISH (1997), FIGHT CLUB (1999), and Chris Wedge's Oscar®-winning short BUNNY (1998). He supervised the animation of the talking and dancing cockroaches in JOE'S APARTMENT (1996). As a director, Saldanha's credits include ICE AGE (co-director) and GONE NUTTY (video) (both 2002), ROBOTS (2005, co-director), ICE AGE: MELTDOWN (2006), and ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS (scheduled for release in 2009).  Nominated for Short Film (Animated) 2003: GONE NUTTY (w.
