Born in South Africa, raised in San Francisco, CA. Studied History and Theatre in college, eventually making her way to France to work as an actress. Shapiro wrote BAJO CALIFORNIA: EL LIMITE DEL TIEMPO / UNDER CALIFORNIA: THE LIMIT OF TIME (1998).
