Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Composer, conductor and arranger with over 100 film and television credits who attended the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA). In the late 1970's Shore was the musical director for the weekly show "Saturday Night Live." In 1979 he was hired by David Cronenberg to write the score to small-budget movie, called THE BROOD. This was the start of a long collaboration between Shore and Cronenberg, which is still active through over 15 films, with EASTERN PROMISES (2007) being the latest. In 1989 Shore won a Genie® (Canada's Oscar®) for his great score to Cronenberg's DEAD RINGERS. In 2000 he was chosen to be the composer for the huge production of the trilogy of THE LORD OF THE RINGS (2001-03).
