Born in Parkersburg, WV; educated at NYU Film School (1993). Documentary filmmaker who appeared as an actor and worked as a production assistant for several TV series. SUPER SIZE ME was his first feature documentary. He subsequently became producer or executive producer for several projects: CESKÝ SEN / CZECH DREAM, THE FUTURE OF FOOD and "Know Your Enemy: Al Qaeda's Third Wave" (TV) (all 2004), CLASS ACT and CHALK (both 2006), THE THIRD WAVE and WHAT WOULD JESUS BUY? (both 2007), and WHERE IN THE WORLD IS OSAMA BIN LADEN? (2008). In 2005, Sperlock executive produced and hosted "30 Days", a TV series that used the SUPER SIZE ME concept of being inserted into a certain life style for a month.
In 2006, Spurlock married Vegan chef Alexandra Jamieson; they have a son, Laken James Spurlock, born in 2006.
