Jerry Tessendorf is Principal Graphics Scientist at Rhythm & Hues Studios, where he builds new graphics tools for visual effects. The list of films he has contributed fx software to includes TITANIC (1997), THE 13TH WARRIOR (1999), RED PLANET (2000), THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE (2005), SUPERMAN RETURNS and HAPPY FEET (both 2006), and THE GOLDEN COMPASS (2007). Prior to working in visual effects, he was a Corporate Senior Scientist at the research company Arete Associates. Dr. Tessendorf has a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Brown University, and his research includes techniques in dynamical simulation, ocean optics, and volume rendering.  Technical Achievement Awards 2007 (Academy Certificate) - For the development of the system of fluid dynamics tools at Rhythm & Hues.
